The trail for this trek will lead you in a short time to a high altitude, with views of several famous 6000 m peaks. the trail is a lovely mix of forest, rocky mountains and old local legend. Along the way you would come across many open pastures with mythical tales associated to them. Bhrigu lake is a holy lake formed near where sage Bhrigu meditated and is said to have mystic powers, which prevent the lake from ever fully freezing.

    All about the Bhrigu Lake Trek.

    The Bhrigu lake trek is a three day excursion which can begin either from Vashisth village, 3kms from Manali or from Gulaba, which is a green meadow at a distance of 20 kms from Manali. The trek is moderately difficult and challenges the stamina of the trekkers through steep climbs and inclines. The views a mesmerising to say the least with views of several snow capped mountains and some famous peaks like Indrasan, the Seven sisters and DeoTibba. The green pastures add to the beauty of the region and the folk tales add the charm.     1. Day 16 Manali - Gulaba – Rawari Khoi ( 3850m) – 3 to 4 hrs.

      We drive you 20 km up the Manali Rothang Pass  road  to the meadows of Gulaba (3000m). The views of the upper kullu valley form here are quite spectacular. Hanuman Tibba (5928m)  looks very close from this point and the curve of its glacier is visible. The trail gose eastwards and we climb steadily through oak forests. We walk slowly up as the altitude can make you a little breathless. On this day the camp is at rawari khoi (3850m) surrounded by yellow cliffs, the river and stream here are very pure and clear. Camp overnight.

    2. Day 2 Rawari khoi-teli via Bhrigu Lake (4250m) - 5 to 6 hrs.

      We cross the river near the camp and then keep climbing to cross a mountain ridge, beyond which lies the Bhrigu lake at an altitude of 4250m. this beautiful spot is perfect for a quick lunch break. After lunch we do a “puja”, a ceremony involving incense and coconut for the local ‘Devta’ ( male Deity). A short climb is also possible to the bhrigu peak (4350m) from the lake to get a breathtaking view of hamta valley and the two famous peaks : Indrasan (6200m)and Deo Tibba (6001m) we then walk down through grazing areas for horses , sheeps and goats , buffalo, and yaks. By late afternoon we arrive in teli and set up the camp at 3500 m. camp overnight.

    3. Day 3 Teli to Vashisht (2100m) - 4 to 5 hrs.

      Today we walk down and across to Panduropa and then descend on a steep path to the village of vashisht in the upper kullu valley. Walking down, you can appreciate the diversity of the flora in Himachal. The descent offers great views of the entire kullu valley as we walk through forests, slowly emerging into apple or chards, before finally reaching Vashisht by evening. A last chai in vashisht office with your team and then transfer to your hotel.
